Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion serve our parish and visitors by assisting in the distribution of the Body and Blood of our Lord at our Eucharistic liturgies on the weekends, Holy Days and other special days. We minister at a very special and holy time to each communicant.
Consider serving your parish community as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC). We have a great need for additional ministers at several of our Masses. All interested in joining this most rewarding ministry are asked to contact the EMHC coordinator Jay Comi to receive a copy of the ministry guidelines prior to a training session.
There is a one mandatory formation session that lasts about 2 hours in the sanctuary. Also, there are one or two half day retreats and refresher training sessions during the year. Each minister is approved by the pastor. You will be scheduled at your favorite Mass. The rotation is about every 2-3 weeks.
- Are you a registered member and regular communicant of our parish?
- Have you been Confirmed?
- Are you physically able to receive the Eucharist under both species (bread and wine)?
- Can you attend the training session and retreats?
