St. Raphael parishioners are getting ready to again participate with the Catholic Coalition ( consisting of several local parishes) and Habitat for Humanity - Wake in building another affordable home. In addition to adult participation, again this year, our pre-school and Cub Scouts have volunteered to cut out and decorate roof baffles for our home #13.
Baffles are installed in the interior of homes between the roof line/eaves overhang and outside wall soffit. For our purpose, they are made of cardboard. In the past we have used large boxes from moving companies as the size must be at least 35”x39”. If you or someone you know has access to cardboard such as this and would be willing to donate to our young parishioners, we would be most appreciative. Each home uses approximately 50 baffles. Click here to download a flier with more information and instructions for making your own baffles.
Home build #13 will be starting within the next month and our Habitat outreach ministry always welcomes additional adult volunteers for construction, lunch preparation for workers, prayers and financial support. Click here to learn more about the Catholic Coalition/Habitat Wake.
