Dear Parishioners,
Thank you for an amazing St. Ignatius Weekend. Both the festival on Sunday and my Vow Mass and potluck dinner on Monday were so much fun. It was most impactful seeing so many parishioners involved. I am ever grateful to Debbie Johnson, all of the ministry leaders, and the many volunteers who created this joyful, mission-driven event. In her letter thanking the volunteers, Debbie wrote that we became more Jesuit by the end of the day. I would totally agree. In so many ways, we are getting better as a parish and responding to Christ’s call to our faith community.
I also appreciate the many thoughtful responses we received in the parish survey and the hard work of the Pastoral Council and our parish staff in reflecting upon and responding to this collective parish voice. You may have already noticed various initiatives that align with the good ideas we heard:
The music ministry is integrating more diverse musicians and styles, as well as developing a youth choir.
We are planning youth ministry events, including a fall retreat.
Catechism will continue to improve as we apply lessons learned from this past year.
The new Men’s Group has generated lots of interest and even repaired all of the parking lot potholes. Thank you!!!
Flat screen monitors installed in the Lewis Room and meeting rooms give ministries and groups greater capabilities to use technology.
The Lewis Room kitchen is being upgraded so that we can host more events.
After a wild, post-Covid, reopening year with many staff changes, we finally settled into routines and established policies, which will reduce confusion and improve communication.
The campus is looking cleaner with our new janitorial service, MG Capital.
We began working with architects to expand the Columbarium (hopefully, by next summer).
And, Fr. Steve Planning, S.J. will soon bring new energy and ideas to benefit us all.
Discernment is ongoing and there will be many more opportunities to provide feedback as we accompany one another at Saint Raphael the Archangel. Thank you for advancing this special mission we share.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!

Queridos feligreses,
