We pray that you will consider joining us at one of our monthly meetings. Hopefully this FAQ sheet will provide you with some information about what we are all about!
What is Mothers in Faith?

I drop off my kids at 8:20 at Saint Raphael Catholic School. If I’m at the Parish early, is there anything to do before the meeting starts?
Yes! We start setting up at 8:30 am, so come on over and socialize! The more help the better! Please note that everyone is welcome to join us for the Divine Mercy at 9:10 am; the “official” start of the meeting is 9:30.
What is the Divine Mercy?
The Divine Mercy is a simple message that God loves us unconditionally and to recognize that His mercy is greater than all our sins. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is also an invitation to call upon Him with trust to receive His mercy and come to share His joy. This message and devotion to Jesus Divine Mercy is based on the diary of a poor Polish nun, St Faustina Kowalska, where she wrote about her mystical experiences with Jesus. Join us to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 9:10 am in room 106 (nursery). No experience necessary. Rosarybeads, Divine Mercy pamphlets and guidance will be provided.
Breakfast…that sounds good. Can I help?
Please volunteer to be a hostess at one of our monthly meetings. The hostess provides breakfast items, appetizers and/or refreshments. Some ideas include bagels and cream cheese, fruit, pastries, cheese and crackers or a specialty of your choice! Mothers in Faith provides all paper goods, coffee, sugar and creamer. We also need some help with set up and clean up!
I’m a little new at prayer requests. Can you please explain?
Prayer intentions or prayer requests is a time to express what is in your heart. Members are welcome to ask for prayers for anything on their minds, for example patience with my children, for my mom battling cancer, for strength to get through a difficult time, or for forgiveness when we fall short of God’s intentions. Prayer intentions can also be a chance to say thank you! For example, thank you God for all the blessings in my life or thank you God for answering my prayers. We encourage praying for each other and to keep these prayer intentions on your list for our fellow members. There is power in prayer.
I see you have childcare. Can you tell me about that?
Childcare takes place in our adjacent nursery. We hire a safe-trained babysitter to supervise the children in the nursery while we have our meeting. Safe-trained means our babysitter took a class with the Diocese and is certified to provide a safe childcare environment. . It is very common for children and moms to go back and forth between rooms during the meeting. We get it – so don’t worry about your children “being a disturbance” if they need you! Childcare is $5 per child, maximum $10.00 for two or more children, available during the meeting.
Adoration? What is that?
Adoration is a time to worship Christ as He is present in the Blessed Sacrament. The Eucharist is displayed in an exposed monstrance and placed upon the altar in the Chapel of Our Lady Queen of the Americas on the first Thursday of each month. Attending adoration is a beautiful way to personally converse with our Lord as He is truly present in the Eucharist. As busy moms we understand that is difficult to visit the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with young children; therefore, we open the nursery with our babysitting co-op from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. (Nursery service is available only by request.) Moms take turns attending this peaceful devotion to our Lord, while a safe-trained parent remains in the nursery with the children.
Do you do any social activities for the moms outside of church?
We LOVE to get together! We try to plan a few Ladies day out and Moms night out events throughout the year. See the schedule of events for more details.
How about service projects?
We host Advent Festival, Family Friendly Stations of the Cross one time during lent, Prayers for Priests Initiative where we stress the importance of the laity’s prayers for Holy priests as well as host a St. Joseph Day table and blessing on his feast day of March 19.
Wow- this sounds like a lot- meetings, social time, service projects…I don’t know if I can make such a big commitment…
No worries! As moms we understand the unpredictability of our lives and have designed our group in a way that people can participate when they want and how they can. No one is keeping track. Whatever and however you feel God is calling you to serve, that’s what you do!
Although I was born and raised Catholic, I’ve never really learned much or have been interested in my faith, but I’d like to start. To tell you the truth, I’m a bit intimidated…
We understand completely. Our faith is so rich and deep, it is hard to take those first few steps. But as you open your heart to God, you will receive His grace and He will lead you. Trust in Him.
I’m not Catholic, but I would like to learn more.
Come on in! You have found a good place.
I’m a stay at home dad. Can I join?
Our group is for ladies only. Please see website for men's groups.
We hope that this helped answer some questions about Mothers in Faith!
