Ash Wednesday, March 5, and Good Friday, April 18, are days of fasting and abstinence.
Catholics ages 18 - 59 years are required to fast. Fasting consists of eating only one meal, with the possibility of two smaller snacks that do not add up to one meal.
Catholics ages 14 years and older are to abstain from eating meat on all Fridays in Lent.
March 4 - 12
Let's unite as a parish through the intercession of Saint Francis Xavier! It's traditional to pray the Novena for a particular intention; to ask for what you desire from God. We will pray together after each Mass. Or, you may pray on your own in the chapel (prayer cards will be available) or at home.
'Grace' is a traditional term used in the Catholic Church for a favor or free gift from God. It can be seen as the power within us that gives us the strength to reach out to others in generosity, care and love. When we ask God for a gift or favor, we acknowledge that He is the giver of all gifts.

The 18th Annotation Retreat is a form of the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius adapted to the needs of people who do not feel prepared or able to enter into the full experience of the Spiritual Exercises. We offer this abbreviated form of the Spiritual Exercises to those who might want to deepen their experience of the Paschal Mystery.
The retreat begins on Tuesday, April 1 from 7:00 - 9:00 pm in Room 107 and will run through May 6.
Thursday, April 10, 6:30 pm in the Lewis Room

Greener Lent is a Lenten program focused on justice for the poor who are most affected by climate degradation. By increasing the rigor of our traditional Lenten fast, we substantially reduce our personal environmental impact. This, plus our commitment to prayer and almsgiving, help turn our hearts to Christ as we prepare for his resurrection at Easter.
