In the spring of 1994, I was not a disciple of Jesus. I was a college student who had grown up Catholic, and I could tell you some things about Jesus. But I was not committed to a personal relationship with him; I had not turned over my life to him and decided to follow him.

Allan Badulis has moved in a new direction in his career and has stepped down as Pastoral Council Chair. Allan’s served as Chair since 2017 and led the Pastoral Council’s part in developing the parish vision statement, facilitating discussions among parish, school, and preschool leaders about our vision, and beginning work for parish long-range planning. He will continue to be involved with the Council, including possibly leading some planning sessions.

As the summer comes to a conclusion, I hope that you enjoy a restful, long weekend together with family and friends, and maybe one last beach excursion! At the same time, let's not overlook the reason for the extra day off, to reflect on the value and meaning of work in our society, how it is meant to be something that adds value to one's life, and not something that should be exploited.
Take some time out for you while connecting to other moms in community, faith, service, and learning more about our Catholic faith. Our next meeting is Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019 from 9:30 am – 11:30 am in Room 112. Includes social time, prayer time, and guest speaker. Come for all or part of the meeting!
Join us on Monday, September 2, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. to celebrate a special Labor Day Mass with music in the Chapel. This will be the only Mass on September 2.
Many roles in the Liturgy are exercised by lay people who place their time and talent at the service of the liturgical assembly as altar servers, lectors, extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion, cantors, choir members, instrumentalists, leaders of song, and ushers.
¡y me hice sacerdote! (Entonces hay esperanza para cualquiera... )
St. Monica prayed for her son Augustine to come to know Jesus, and now he’s also Saint Augustine! (Their back-to-back feast days are this week.) St. Therese of Lisieux prayed for a convicted criminal and he reached out to Jesus before he died. My grandmother prayed for me, and I became a priest! (So there’s hope for anybody… )
