The Caring Ministry focuses on the care of ourselves, others, and the world. We provide opportunities to learn more about some key issues affecting our world today and provide service opportunities to help address them in our local community. If you'd like to join us, we need you and you are most welcome!

Bring a smile to a child in need at Saint Raphael, a teenager in Wake County Foster Care, or a homebound parishioner. Look for the beautiful Angel Tree in the Atrium during Advent for gifts that you can purchase to assist those in need. You might also consider a new holiday tradition by feeding a fellow Angel Tree parishioner's family a joyous Christmas meal by donating a grocery gift card to Walmart or Food Lion for the parent to purchase food items their family will enjoy.

Since the 1980s, Saint Raphael has taken an active part in Habitat Wake and affordable housing in our area. Then,13 years ago, we joined the newly formed Catholic Coalition/Habitat-Wake and the rest is history! "Since 1985, Habitat Wake has partnered with over 800 families to build homes." In spite of this, the need for affordable housing remains. Will you join your fellow parishioners for a home build? No construction, carpentry skills or tools are needed - just a willingness to help out. There is something for everyone!

Anyone can help advocate for better public policies. There are many ways to advocate, no experience is needed! You can sign up for free Advocacy Alerts to learn about current issues by going to habitatwake.org/advocacy. You can also sign up and be trained as an Advocacy Ambassador to better communicate with elected officials. If interested, contact Bob Kucab at [email protected].
Read and Feed's mission is to strengthen literacy skills among under-served elementary school children and provide meals in a nurturing neighborhood environment. Please consider making an impact in a child's life by tutoring in grades Kindergarten-5th. We meet most Thursdays during the school year from 5:30-7:00 PM in Raphael Hall. All volunteers will need to complete Read and Feed training and the Diocese Safe Environment Training and background check.
