Our program cannot work without our wonderful volunteers!
There are several ways to be involved in our children's faith formation program, from serving as a Catechist to the essential "behind the scenes" roles that keep our program running.
Program Volunteers
Catechist - Teach a class of children/youth (23 Sundays; 1.5 hours; substitutes can be found if you need a Sunday off)
Special Needs Catechist - Work with a small (1-5) group of children/youth with special needs (23 Sundays; 1 hour)
Catechist Assistant - Help out in a class of children/youth (23 Sundays; 1.5 hours; substitutes can be found if you need a Sunday off)
Substitute Catechist - Teach a class of children/youth when their regular catechist cannot make it to class (Sundays as needed; 1.5 hours)
Dismissal Team - Assist with our Carpool and Walk-up Line (23 Sundays; 30 minutes; can take a Sunday off if you need to)
Security Team - Walk the halls during Sunday sessions and monitor hallway activity during Faith Formation (23 Sundays; 1.5 hours; can take a Sunday off if you need to)
Administrative Opportunities
Office Assistant - Aid our staff in filing, copying, and computer projects (year-round; flexible to fit your schedule)
Webpage Manager - Help us keep our website up-to-date with pictures and information (can be done from home; training required; experience with website content management systems helpful)
Newsletter Editor - Help us edit and format our quarterly newsletter (can be done from home; need skills in Microsoft Publisher and an eye for design)
Bulletin Editor - Help us write and design our bulletin pages (can be done from home; training required; need an eye for design)
Event and Activity Assistants
Crafting - Help out with various craft projects (various times throughout the year; can be flexible to fit your schedule)
One-time Event Volunteer - Help out at our large events throughout the year (ex: Lenten Rice Bowl, Advent Fair, 1st Eucharist Retreat, etc.; time commitment varies)
Special Events/Meetings Set-up and Clean-up Team - Help set up for our special events and meetings by setting up chairs, tables, and decoration; when the events are over, help us clean up (ex: 1st Eucharist Meetings; Confirmation Family Workshops, etc.; time commitment varies)
Photography - Come to our special events and Faith Formation sessions and take photos that we can use in our publications (can be very flexible, although your presence at our big events would be preferred; some photography experience would be nice, but not necessary)
Acting - At various times throughout the year we would like to put on brief skits for the children or youth; must be comfortable "on stage" (various times through the year)
