Pat Abel

As a first term Pastoral Council member, Pat’s most looking forward to helping future generations feel the sense of family that fosters a true belong for everyone. She loves the diversity in our parish and wants to help everyone feel welcomed.
Pat and her husband were married at Our Lady of Lourdes in 1982 and became parishioners at St. Raphael in the late 1980’s. Since joining our parish, she’s generously shared her many talents and gifts. She’s served on many committees and in various activities throughout the years, especially during the time that her husband served as Parish Administrator. She was a member of our funeral ministry from 2004 – 2008, meeting with families and helping to plan funerals, and she currently serves as a Eucharistic Minister. A long-time educator, Pat was also a member of the first School Board at our parish and served for two additional terms, one as chair. She’s also been on three search committees for principals at the school.
Pat holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Biology and a Master’s of Education Degree with a specialty in Administration. This past August Pat began her fifty-sixth year in education and she’s currently an Assistant Principal at Athens Drive Magnet High School.
